Terms of Service

Last updated: October 15, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern everything Chapter offers: this website and the inquiry and booking forms on it, therapy sessions, couple intensives, group workshops, workplace counseling and team workshops, andToday, Chapter's free self-guided reading practice. By using any part of Chapter, you agree to these terms.

Two ways to use Chapter

What you sign up for depends on which part of Chapter you use.

  • Therapy and professional services. Sessions, intensives, workshops, coaching and team workshops are professional services provided by Sabrina Briceño, LPCC. Before your first session or workshop you sign your own paperwork: informed consent, fees, scheduling and cancellation, confidentiality. That agreement governs your service, and if it and these terms disagree, your signed agreement controls.
  • Today, self-guided reading. Today is a free educational reading resource. Creating an account does not make you a client, does not create a therapist–client relationship, and is not therapy.

What Chapter is not

Today is an educational self-help tool. Neither it nor this website is a therapy portal, a crisis service, or a place for confidential treatment information. Nothing here diagnoses or treats a mental health condition, and nothing here replaces psychotherapy, medical care, or a crisis service.

Use at your own risk

You use Chapter's services and this website at your own risk. Nothing here should replace professional advice from a licensed therapist, doctor, or other qualified provider. If you are in crisis, please call 911 or 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Booking, fees and cancellation

Fees, deposits, scheduling and cancellation for sessions and workshops are set out in the paperwork you sign or the confirmation you receive when you book. Those documents, not these terms, decide what you pay and how a booking changes.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your password secure. You must be at least 18 years old, or use the app with a parent or guardian.

Content and intellectual property

The chapters, writing, and materials in the app and on this website are owned by Chapter and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. Please do not resell, reproduce, or distribute them without permission.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or change our services from time to time. If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account.
